Heron Dance protects your online order information by using Secure
Sockets Layers (SSL) technology. SSL insures data security and prevents the decoding of your information by unauthorized individuals. It's easy to know if a web site is secure: when you are accessing a secure web site's checkout
the address will change from http:// to https://.
What information is collected?
For each visitor to our site, Heron Dance automatically recognizes
only the customer's IP address, not the individual's email address.
When we ask for your email address, what do we use it for?
Email addresses are collected from those who purchase products via the Heron Dance website and/or sign up for our free weekly email — A Pause for Beauty — to allow us to send you a confirmation of your order. Your email address is not shared with anyone or any company outside Heron Dance.
Other Information Collected:
Heron Dance does not collect email addresses of people who visit our site but do not subscribe or purchase items.
The site does collect information such as the customer's IP address and click-stream
information, which is for Heron Dance's internal
use only. We use this information, which does not identify specific users, in
order to improve the Heron Dance website, estimate
the number of Heron Dance website users, and track
the website's aggregate traffic patterns. Heron Dance
does not authorize third parties who collect this information for us to use
it for any purpose other than that stated above. Although Heron
Dance currently (April 2007) does not conduct customer surveys, we might
at sometime in the future. If we do, the survey information will be used solely
to improve our service and the content of our website. It will not be shared
with other organizations for any purpose, commercial or otherwise.
Mailing Addresses:
Heron Dance shares the postal addresses
of customers who make purchases via the Heron Dance
website with organizations that Heron Dance deems
reputable. This practice has meant our survival during the many lean months
we experience here. Heron Dance does not share
the names of customers who only browse, email comments or
request email updates. If you do not want your information shared, do not want
to receive email, or no longer want to be on our publication mailing list, please
send an email request to service@herondance.org,
and we will remove you from the list or lists you specify. Please provide
name and postal address as it appears on the label in question, and your email
address so that your request can be effectively processed. Please let us know
if you wish to remain on the Heron Dance -only
list or wish to be removed completely from any email and subscription list.
