Over the 14 years since the first issue was published, The Heron Dance Nature Art Journal (formerly Heron Dance) has evolved from an 8 page newsletter printed in one color to a 72 page full color journal. Each issue contains dozens of paintings, and in addition to the art, includes words that explore the beauty and the mystery of the natural world. The content of each issue encompasses journal notes, book excerpts, poetry and interviews. Each issue is inspired by a love of wild nature.The Heron Dance Nature Art Journal contains no advertising and is published twice a year.

A one year subscription is $30. A two year subscription is $50 and each additional year is an additional $25. If you wish to subscribe for more than a year, please use the drop down feature. To renew for a year or more, please click here.

Publication Schedule:

Our print publication comes out twice a year. Issue 56 mailed the second week of October. So that new subscribers won’t have to wait six months to receive their first issue, issues will also be mailed to new subscribers once a month for three months after the release of a particular issue.

The creative nature of our work (Rod sometimes paints the same painting over several times before getting something he is happy with) means that publishing dates are somewhat flexible.
